Description

The Gardener’s Selection for Acid Soils is perfect for the discerning plant connoisseur.  We are offering the chance to own three plant showstoppers! This distinctive trio of rarely available Spring flowering plants, specifically for acidic soils (or in a pot containing ericaceous compost) are offered at a discount. The selection comprises of:-

  • the blue Himalayan poppy Meconopsis sheldonii ‘Slieve Donard’ AGM
  • the scalloped leaved and double flowering Sanguinaria canadensis multiplex ‘Plena’ AGM
  • a pot full of the delightfully petite Narcissus cyclamineus  AGM bulbs

All are ready for you to plant directly into the garden. The Narcissus will flower this Spring in late February and the Sanguinaria in late March. The Meconopsis  will flower during May and through Chelsea week.

Meconopsis sheldonii ‘Slieve Donard’ (AGM), is the best perennial Meconopsis for English gardens, producing stunning blue flowers and long, oval green leaves. It has long been awarded the Royal Horticultural Society’s (RHS) Award of Garden Merit for its ‘indisputable beauty and good constitution’ (RHS Trial Report 2010-13). The much sought after Sanguinaria canadensis multiplex ‘Plena’ AGM is a charming woodland plant from North America, with pure white pom-pom flowers and bluish-green foliage. It is a hardy perennial, grown from a rhizome and has been awarded the RHS Award of Garden Merit (AGM). Click here for more information.

The clump forming Narcissus cyclamineus has vivid yellow petals that sweep fully back to reveal its long flower tube. The species has been awarded the RHS Award of Garden Merit.
